Release time: use the platform date and a real timezone
The store listing names September 18, 2026 as the release date. A SteamDB schedule snapshot places the planned unlock at 17:00 UTC, which corresponds to 01:00 the following day in Beijing (UTC+8). These are a dated announcement and schedule, not a promise that the release cannot slip. If you are reading near launch, check the store’s live availability before treating the full game as playable.
The official Sunken Realms website contains older marketing information, including an outdated launch-year reference. Do not let an old landing-page banner override the newer platform schedule. Likewise, an older demo video saying “coming in a few months” only tells you what was expected at the time of that recording.
Once the store unlocks, the guide must verify the real downloadable build, its first-run progression, current patch notes and whether any demo mechanics changed. Until that point, detailed retail walkthroughs, drop-rate charts and complete map coordinates would be inventions.
- Confirm live store availability and exact release version.
- Check if you are launching the demo, playtest or paid retail app.
- Use source dates to resolve any disagreement about features.
Retail verification is a separate, later pass; this page does not claim it has happened.
Demo content: what the two-section footage establishes
A pre-release gameplay video ends with a developer message thanking players for the sample and inviting them to replay the first two sections, return to camp, speak to Vanderin and continue upgrading Alric and crafting equipment. That establishes the demo’s scope at that recording date; it does not mean there were only two sections planned for the complete game.
Other footage visibly supports the early loop: the companion Glis, a randomly placed dungeon key, an optional treasure room, boss access, extraction choices, an equipment workbench, cooking and the Soul Forge. Those observations are useful for getting started. They still need a retail recheck because beta mechanics and layouts may change even when names are familiar.
A “complete walkthrough” that silently extrapolates the two demo sections into all six announced sections would be misleading. The sensible approach is to publish the verified starter route and add full-game material only after actually observing the rest.
- Use first-run and key guides as demo-grounded mechanics.
- Do not treat the sample ending as a retail finale.
- Avoid exact boss or loot claims not shown in the same version.
The recorded demo message is not a statement of the full retail section count.
Developer scope and recent patch notes
In a July 31 developer announcement, the game’s creator discussed six sections requiring 17 rooms each plus extras for a stated overall plan of 109 handcrafted rooms. This is a production update and declared scope, not an independent audit that every room shipped or that any player has photographed them all.
In mid-September, SteamDB indexed a release-candidate patch for the separately named Sunken Realms Playtest app. Notes mention Glis audio cues and bug fixes, among many changes. This gives a useful date for future comparison but is not equivalent to a tested retail feature list. The word “playtest” matters.
If you find an old wiki, a 2022 screenshot or a demo player report with a different value, first identify the underlying build. A newer timestamp is helpful but does not prove it was on the retail branch. The best guide update will show a current screenshot alongside the change being claimed.
| Source | Covers | Cannot prove |
|---|---|---|
| Official store listing | Name, developer, release date, feature promises | Current in-game numbers or locations |
| Recorded demo playthroughs | First two sections, camp loop, Glis pulse, Fireball scroll | Anything past the sample; demo rules may be patched |
| September playtest notes | Charge attacks, dash behaviour, enemy animations | That the retail build ships identical behaviour |
| Developer July update | Stated six-section plan and 109 handcrafted rooms | Shipped room count or final layouts |
- Treat store and developer announcements as plans until shipping is confirmed.
- Separate demo, playtest and full-game notes in research.
- Update only the claims backed by the exact new source.
The site does not publish a map or equipment database derived from an unverified release candidate.
What this guide will update after launch
The first useful validation pass is mechanical rather than promotional. Check whether Glis still points toward a differently placed key, whether treasure-room access still depends on clearing enemies, what extraction actually preserves and whether the boss-essence skip remains available. These affect the highest-intent questions in our guides.
The second pass is visual. For each published answer, capture the exact current screen: key signal, map, camp workstations, spell menu, exit prompt and one representative boss encounter. Images should illustrate the paragraph they support. Old promotional art is acceptable for a branded intro when the owner permits it, but not as proof of a September recipe, enemy or route.
Finally, update release dates, real supported platforms, content depth and version labels. Search interest and ranking cannot be inferred from Steam follower counts alone. We will only expand into other independent articles when there is evidence of player need and enough factual material to solve the task.
- Check retail mechanics and compare them to each guide’s claim ledger.
- Replace non-current visuals with licensed matching current screenshots.
- Record the change date and actual release-build evidence.
This page is revised by hand when a dated source changes — there is no automatic background monitoring.
